The one step youcan’t do alone.

A stamp alone, an e-signature, or a witness we hand you will not satisfy the Irish rule. It has to be someone who already knows you, currently practising in one of seventeen accepted professional categories, and sitting with you for the physical wet-ink acts. WitnessKit coordinates that step from nomination through final mailing.

How it works

Six steps, each one closing a specific way this fails.

This is coordination and physical-completeness review, not legal advice. Government instructions remain the authority at the moment you file.

  1. 01

    Nominate

You name someone who genuinely knows you. We check their profession against the Department’s current list before anyone is asked to take part.

  2. 02

    Qualify

Your witness confirms six points: they know you, they are not related, they currently practise, they have a stamp or card, they understand the duties, and they consent to the limited record.

  3. 03

    Receive

You upload the DFA-generated application PDF. We print it on A4, assemble it with the execution instructions and checklist, and ship the kit to the address in the case. Delivery tracking stays attached to the order.

  4. 04

    Meet

You meet in person with the application, original photo ID, its copy, four photographs, and the kit. You sign first; the same witness completes every physical act in wet ink.

  5. 05

    Verify

You photograph or scan the finished artifacts. The review checks for the expected signature, date, stamp, card, certification wording, and photo backs before the packet moves on.

  6. 06

    Mail

You mail the finished packet to Dublin yourself and record the postal date and tracking number. Heritage Passport never sends the government-bound envelope for you.

The final hand-off

You—not Heritage Passport—mail the packet to Dublin.

The kit travels to you. After the in-person signing and artifact review, you make the final government-bound mailing and keep the receipt. You remain the applicant and the filer.

What leaves the table with you

  • A4 execution instructions and a final table-side checklist
  • A quality-check record for each finished witness artifact
  • Delivery tracking for the kit sent to your address
  • A place to record the final mailing date and tracking number
